Adolph Dehn
Adolf Dehn (1895-1968) was born in Waterville, MN. His student days were spent in Minneapolis and New York.
After spending time in Vienna, Berlin, and Paris, where he recorded scenes in these sophisticated cities, he
returned to the US, where he perfected his technique using lithographic drawings on stone. He spent time in
the eastern US, and in Colorado, as well as Haiti, Mexico, Afghanistan, Spain, India, and Ireland, as depicted
in his prints. He worked with the finest printers, and received awards throughout his life for his works. He
taught, and authored several books. His work may be found in the collections of many major museums in this
country.
A set of 20 prints made for a collection of short stories by Guy deMaupassant published by Random House in 1945
